Margaret Styles - Founder

Harris Styles was founded by Margaret Styles, drawing upon her passion, enthusiasm and extensive experience in healthcare sales and recruitment

Margaret initially completed a Science degree followed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Science, and commenced her career in research at QEII Medical Centre. Margaret traveled overseas for a number of years and was fortunate to work at the Royal Free hospital, London, where her research was published in a number of reputable journals.

When Margaret returned to Australia, she decided on a career change and entered the pharmaceutical industry as a Medical Representative. With success selling to General Practitioners in Perth, she was relocated to Sydney as a Hospital Specialist representative.

Margaret was then presented with a newly created opportunity with an international Optical company as the Manager for WA/SA and NT. Although a new challenge, Margaret made a huge contribution to the success of this company during the 90's.

Then another unique prospect presented as a Recruitment Consultant specialising in Healthcare. Margaret was very dedicated in this area, developing solid relationships within the pharmaceutical and medical industry. It was in this role she identified the need for a training course for candidates seeking to enter the healthcare industry as sales professionals, and so the journey of Harris Styles began.



Mona Martyn Smith - Training Specialist Sydney

Mona's career started in Psychiatry and General Nursing in Ireland and Australia. On completion of a Bachelor of Business in Management at the University of Technology in Sydney, Mona joined the Pharmaceutical Industry in the early 1990s.

Mona gained extensive experience selling to medical professionals at GP and a Hospital Representative level. Working within the antihypertensive, oral diabetic, neonatal, generic and oncology markets Mona recognised her passion for sales.

Mona's industry management experience has been varied and extensive, ranging from managing Health care professionals in a secondary care setting as an Associate Director of Nursing to managing a national sales team of Medical Representatives. Mona has been fortunate to train Representatives, market to them as a product manager and work to provide the electronic tools required for a sales force automation system.

Over the years Mona's focus has been in the management and training of representatives and first line managers, which has lead her to understand that the Pharmaceutical and healthcare industry offers a challenging and stimulating career.



Wendy Ryan - Training Specialist Brisbane

Wendy Ryan has been in the Sales and Training field for in excess of 20 years, firstly as a Business Owner/Operator, then in the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Industry.

Whilst a Business Owner/Operator Wendy recruited, trained, coached and implemented motivational and reward based programs for the 10+ employees, resulting in long term staff retention, and a highly successful Business.

Upon the Sale of the Business, Wendy moved into the Pharmaceutical industry as a G.P Representative in the therapeutic areas of Gastroenterology, Renal, Oncology and neurology. Some time was also spent in the Pharmacy arena, selling into the retail market. Wendy also spent time as a Hospital Specialist Representative in the field of Neurology.

To broaden her understanding of the Medical Industry Wendy moved from the Pharmaceutical Industry to the Medical Device Industry in the Fields of Urology, Aortic Intervention, Vascular and Cardiology.

Wendy has returned to Pharmaceuticals in the field of Ophthalmology, and is currently covering a Territory of South Brisbane/Northern NSW and Far North Queensland.
